The Antics of Max and Marie…2

It is midnight again, in the Gordon’s household. I am sick as a skunk and Hubster has the beginnings of it too, plus dropped a ladder on his foot so he’s in pain.

I got into bed, Hubster cleaned his teeth and I heard him shoo Marie out the bathroom. Max starts having his weirdo energetic 5 minutes where he bounds around the house like a loony up and down the stairs and leaping like he’s a rabbit on and off the bed.

I’m laughing because he did this weird butt down and pull forward across the bed using his front paws before leaping off the bed and running into the spare room. Odd right?!

We continue to get ourselves ready for bed, lemon and honey tea for me to shift this awful cold cough storm, and Hubster thinks he sees something wrong with Max’s pantaloons. Poop…yes…stuck in his damn furry butt!

He needs help sorting the cat out, I hold and he tries to wipe it free with the cat butt wipes. Anyone use them? Yup they suck, they are awful. Instead we try cutting it out, as much as possible, because he clearly was halfway through the job!

MARIE YOU SHE-BEAST FROM THE DEPTHS OF THE SEA!!! She’s made her smug self comfortable on the bed.

We are now at 12:10am sat in bed, listening to Max cry and winge in the bathroom, whilst we hope he uses the litter tray alone. To finish his job, so we can then continue to clean his butt.

Now it is 12:20am and Max is as clean as we can get. It’s goodnight time now. Long haired fluffy cats are the best and we love them both, but sometimes they drive me crazy!

The Antics of Max and Marie….1

It is currently 12:35am on a Friday morning and we aka Hubster has just cleared up after Max the daft monster cat again! This time thankfully he isn’t sick – blood works came back from the vet following the weekends sickness and poonami explosion – instead he ran out the litter box.

The reason for this fast getaway — Marie, the she-beast cuddle wimp, decided to half enter the litter box whilst her brother from another mother was doing his business. How do I know this….going to the loo is a family event. Marie bopped him on the nose. She didn’t even want to use it. This led to me calling Hubster to remove her so Max could finish, but we were too slow.

I said that he hadn’t finished, but nooo I was not believed, of course not!

Me : What is Marie doing on the stairs? Why is she walking down the steps like that?  What is that near the bottom? I bet it’s poop.

Hubster : Naa….oh, yep

Me : I TOLD YOU SO, I’M RIGHT! *fist bump in the air*

You guessed it Max leapt out the litter box midway through a dump, leaving part of it behind on the stairs and continuing to wipe his behind on my Christmas piano. Cheers boy

This has prompted me to consider posting about their stoopid, daft, pain in the butt yet lovable soppy ways because they make me laugh. Plus our lives are pretty boring!

The lights are now off, Hubster did a cracking clear up job, and we’ve got Max at the bottom of the bed and Marie on the beside table.

Goodnight!

Max Cat

Not long after we moved to the States we put some feelers out for a Maine Coon cat, we were offered a kitten by someone, but then she never responded to our replies and aren’t too sure what happened there…but let’s think of it as fate…because in August we heard back from someone else who was retiring her stud, a 3 year old silver grey boy.

Oh yes we did!! Some how without even realising it we’ve ended up with two very big cats! A pure main coon and a large domestic long hair!

We didn’t rename Max, and he was about 10lb when we got him and he is also around 12.5lbs now. He is very playful, and loves to sit on our heads when we sleep or snuggle up right between us at night whilst his sister sleeps down by our feet. He is desperate to snuggle with Marie, and play with her! She isn’t as keen though…they have recently (end of december) started to chase each other around the house, up and down the stairs and under the bed in a really friendly way which is great. She is not impressed when Max tries to sleep right next to her, but did allow him to groom her! Yay Marie.

I think I need to start a whole separate section where I can just add photos of the cats together! They are pretty cute after all 🙂

Marie Cat

So we picked up our first cat Marie back in June from Petco. She was advertised as a 5 year old domestic long hair, and she was lovely. A bit skinny but lovely, and interested in us! We visited the vets who weighed her at 10lbs and disagreed with the age and put her around 3 years instead….that answers why she wants to play so much!

Fast forward to January 2017 and she has been both a blessing and a pain in the butt!! It took her a long time to take to our 2nd cat who we introduced to the family end of August, and at times really worried me that we wouldn’t be able to have both cats, but thankfully they tolerate each other. Which means, Marie grumps every now and then, but will sleep on the same bed as our other cat!

Here are some photos of our monster, she-beast, loving baby cat girl! Looking at these, she has definitely put weight on since coming to us. Chunky monster 😀 She’s 12.5lbs now!
